The system applies this list of servers to every cPanel user and every MySQL user that a cPanel user owns.<\/p>\n<div class=\"callout callout-info\">\n<div class=\"callout-heading\">Note:<\/div>\n<div class=\"callout-content\">\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p>cPanel users <strong>cannot<\/strong> permanently remove remote hosts that you add through this interface. cPanel accounts can temporarily remove these remote hosts via cPanel\u2019s <em>Remote MySQL<\/em> interface (<em>cPanel &gt;&gt; Home &gt;&gt; Databases &gt;&gt; Remote MySQL<\/em>). However, the system restores these remote hosts when the user accesses cPanel\u2019s <em>MySQL Databases<\/em> interface (<em>cPanel &gt;&gt; Home &gt;&gt; Databases &gt;&gt; MySQL Database<\/em>) or the system administrator clicks the <em>click here<\/em> link in the <em>Additional MySQL Access Hosts<\/em> interface.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p>cPanel accounts can add more remote hosts to their account and their MySQL users via cPanel\u2019s <em>Remote MySQL<\/em> interface (<em>cPanel &gt;&gt; Home &gt;&gt; Databases &gt;&gt; Remote MySQL<\/em>).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>The system does <strong>not<\/strong> allow system accounts and <code>root<\/code>-level users that are not cPanel accounts to use this functionality.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<h2 id=\"configure-remote-access-to-mysql\">Configure remote access to MySQL<\/h2>\n<p>To configure the list of remote hosts with access to your MySQL databases, perform the following steps:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>In the text box, enter the hostnames of remote hosts that you wish to access your server\u2019s MySQL databases.\n<ul>\n<li>You may enter the hostnames as fully qualified domain names (FQDNs) or IP addresses (for example, <code>host.example.com<\/code> or <code>192.168.0.20<\/code>).\n<div class=\"callout callout-danger\">\n<div class=\"callout-heading\">Warning:<\/div>\n<div class=\"callout-content\">\n<p>You <strong>must<\/strong> specify FQDNs in lowercase letters.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Click <em>Save<\/em>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>To add the hostnames to each user\u2019s access list, perform one of the following actions:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Click <em>click here<\/em> to automatically add the hostnames to each cPanel user\u2019s access list.<\/li>\n<li>Ask your cPanel users to access cPanel\u2019s <em>Remote MySQL<\/em> interface (<em>cPanel &gt;&gt; Home &gt;&gt; Databases &gt;&gt; Remote MySQL<\/em>) to add the hosts.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 id=\"troubleshooting\">Troubleshooting<\/h2>\n<p>If you experience issues when you attempt to add additional remote hosts that can access MySQL databases on your server, read our Troubleshoot MySQL Profiles documentation.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Valid for versions 82 through the latest version Version: 82 Overview This interface allows you to permit remote hosts (servers) to access MySQL\u00ae databases on your server, or to access a remote MySQL server that you configured via WHM\u2019s Manage MySQL Profiles interface (WHM &gt;&gt; Home &gt;&gt; SQL Services &gt;&gt; Manage MySQL Profiles).
