You <strong>must<\/strong> have at least one IPv4 address.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>This interface adds or deletes an IPv6 address range from the server. Use this interface to add at least one IPv6 address range before you assign dedicated IPv6 addresses to a user in WHM\u2019s <em>Assign IPv6 Address<\/em> interface (<em>WHM &gt;&gt; Home &gt;&gt; IP Functions &gt;&gt; Assign IPv6 Address<\/em>).<\/p>\n<div class=\"callout callout-warning\">\n<div class=\"callout-heading\">Important:<\/div>\n<div class=\"callout-content\">\n<p>An IPv6 address range <strong>cannot<\/strong> contain a server\u2019s shared IP address. The system will <strong>not<\/strong> allow you to set a shared IP address that exists within any configured IPv6 address range.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<h2 id=\"getting-started\">Getting started<\/h2>\n<p>Before you use this interface, you <strong>must<\/strong> ensure that IPv6 functions properly on your server:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p>For IPv6 to function on a cPanel &#038; WHM server, the <code>cpsrvd daemon<\/code> <strong>must<\/strong> listen on IPv6 addresses. To enable this functionality, select <em>On<\/em> for the <em>Listen on IPv6 Addresses<\/em> setting in the <em>System<\/em> section of WHM\u2019s <em>Tweak Settings<\/em> interface (<em>WHM &gt;&gt; Home &gt;&gt; Server Configuration &gt;&gt; Tweak Settings<\/em>).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Use the steps in our Guide to IPv6 documentation to check whether IPv6 functions properly.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div class=\"callout callout-info\">\n<div class=\"callout-heading\">Note:<\/div>\n<div class=\"callout-content\">\n        Your hosting provider may require that you reserve IPv6 address ranges for their use.\n    <\/div>\n<\/div>\n<h2 id=\"add-range\">Add Range<\/h2>\n<p>To add a range of IPv6 addresses, perform the following steps:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>\n<p>Click <em>Add Range<\/em>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Enter a name for the IPv6 address range in the <em>Range Name<\/em> text box. This name <strong>must<\/strong> contain 64 characters or fewer.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Enter the IPv6 address range in the <em>Range<\/em> text box. IPv6 address ranges consist of a shortened IPv6 address, a slash (<code>\/<\/code>), and a number that indicates the network portion of the IPv6 address range. For example:\n<\/p>\n<div class=\"highlight\">\n<pre style=\"color:#f8f8f2;background-color:#272822;-moz-tab-size:4;-o-tab-size:4;tab-size:4\"><code class=\"language-BASH\" data-lang=\"BASH\"><span style=\"color:#ae81ff\">2001<\/span>:0db8:1a34:56cf::\/64<\/code><\/pre>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"callout callout-warning\">\n<div class=\"callout-heading\">Important:<\/div>\n<div class=\"callout-content\">\n<ul>\n<li>Do <strong>not<\/strong> add an IPv6 address range that contains the main IPv6 address that you set in WHM\u2019s <em>Basic WebHost Manager Setup<\/em> interface (<em>WHM &gt;&gt; Home &gt;&gt; Server Configuration &gt;&gt; Basic WebHost Manager\u00ae Setup<\/em>).<\/li>\n<li>You <strong>must<\/strong> add your gateway individually before you add the full gateway range and set the gateway to <code>RESERVED<\/code> so that the system does not assign this IP address to an account. This description <strong>must<\/strong> contain 256 characters or fewer.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Click <em>Add Range<\/em> to add the IPv6 address range, or click <em>Cancel<\/em> to close the form.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2 id=\"ipv6-address-ranges-table\">IPv6 Address Ranges table<\/h2>\n<p>The <em>IPv6 Address Ranges<\/em> table lists information about each IPv6 address range on the server.<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"ip-range-details\">IP Range Details<\/h3>\n<p>This column lists the following information for each IPv6 address range on the server:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p>The range name.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>The address range.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>The range notes.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><em>RESERVED<\/em>, if you selected <em>Reserved<\/em> as the address range\u2019s type.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 id=\"actions\">Actions<\/h3>\n<p>To delete an IPv6 address range, click <em>Delete Range<\/em> for that range in the <em>IPv6 Address Ranges<\/em> table, and then click <em>OK<\/em>.<\/p>\n<div class=\"callout callout-info\">\n<div class=\"callout-heading\">Note:<\/div>\n<div class=\"callout-content\">\n<p>You <strong>cannot<\/strong> delete a range that currently belongs to a user on your server.
