You <strong>must<\/strong> have at least one IPv4 address.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Users with <code>root<\/code>-level privileges can assign IPv6 addresses to the server\u2019s accounts. For more information about IPv6, read our Guide to IPv6 documentation.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"getting-started\">Getting started<\/h2>\n<p>Before you use this interface to assign dedicated IPv6 addresses, you <strong>must<\/strong> perform the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p>Enable IPv6 on the server and use WHM\u2019s <em>IPv6 Ranges<\/em> interface (<em>WHM<\/em> &gt;&gt; <em>Home<\/em> &gt;&gt; <em>IP Functions<\/em> &gt;&gt; <em>IPv6 Ranges<\/em>) to add IPv6 ranges. If you have not added IPv6 ranges to the server, the interface displays a <em>No IPv6 ranges have been added.<\/em> message.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>For IPv6 to function on a cPanel &#038; WHM server, the cpsrvd daemon <strong>must<\/strong> listen on IPv6 addresses. To enable this functionality, select <em>On<\/em> for the <em>Listen on IPv6 Addresses<\/em> setting in the <em>System<\/em> section of WHM\u2019s <em>Tweak Settings<\/em> interface (<em>WHM<\/em> &gt;&gt; <em>Home<\/em> &gt;&gt; <em>Server Configuration<\/em> &gt;&gt; <em>Tweak Settings<\/em>).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To use this interface to assign a shared IPv6 address to one or more users, you <strong>must<\/strong> configure a shared IPv6 address in WHM\u2019s <em>Basic WebHost Manager Setup<\/em> interface (<em>WHM<\/em> &gt;&gt; <em>Home<\/em> &gt;&gt; <em>Server Configuration<\/em> &gt;&gt; <em>Basic WebHost Manager Setup<\/em>). Do <strong>not<\/strong> assign or configure a shared IPv6 address that exists within an IPv6 range. The system will block any shared IPv6 addresses that exist within this range.<\/p>\n<div class=\"callout callout-danger\">\n<div class=\"callout-heading\">Warning:<\/div>\n<div class=\"callout-content\">\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p>When you use this interface to assign IPv6 ranges, the system erases any IPv6 addresses that you assigned to the selected users via other methods.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>If you see an <em>Apache must be recompiled or Apache should be recompiled<\/em> warning at the top of this interface, recompile EasyApache 4.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<h2 id=\"select-an-account\">Select an Account<\/h2>\n<p>To review IPv6 information for a specific account, select the desired account username from the <em>Select an Account<\/em> menu. The interface displays the account\u2019s IPv6 information.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p>To search for a specific username or primary domain, enter the username or primary domain in the <em>Filter Accounts<\/em> text box.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Click the select all icon (<img width=\"20px\" src=\"https:\/\/ssdsunucum.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/bluestar.png\" title=\"bluestar\">) to select all of the accounts on the server.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 id=\"account-information\">Account information<\/h3>\n<p>If you already assigned an IPv6 address range to the selected account, the interface displays the following information:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p><em>IPv6 Address<\/em> \u2014 The account\u2019s IPv6 address.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><em>Primary Domain<\/em> \u2014 The account\u2019s main domain.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><em>IPv6 Subdomain<\/em> \u2014 A link to the account\u2019s IPv6 subdomain. Click this link to navigate to <code>ipv6.example.com<\/code>, where <code>example.com<\/code> represents the account\u2019s main domain. This address resolves to the assigned IPv6 address.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 id=\"enable-ipv6\">Enable IPv6<\/h3>\n<p>To assign an IPv6 address to the selected account, perform the following steps:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>\n<p>Select the desired IPv6 address range from the <em>Enable this account with an IPv6 address from the selected range<\/em> menu.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>You <strong>must<\/strong> select a range that includes available addresses.<\/li>\n<li>To assign the server\u2019s shared IPv6 address to an account, select <em>The server\u2019s shared IPv6 address<\/em>. This address functions as a shared, rather than dedicated, address.\n<div class=\"callout callout-info\">\n<div class=\"callout-heading\">Note:<\/div>\n<div class=\"callout-content\">\n<p>Your server may use a Stateless Autoconfigured Address (SLAAC) address that your MAC address determines. This address changes if your hardware changes. For example, if you replace your ethernet card, the new card receives a new IPv6 address. This causes the old address\u2019s VirtualHosts to use the wrong IPv6 address.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Click <em>Enable Account<\/em>. When you enable IPv6 on an account, the system performs the following actions:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Binds that IPv6 address to your server.<\/li>\n<li>Adds a AAAA record for the DNS zone on the domains that the account owns.\n<div class=\"callout callout-info\">\n<div class=\"callout-heading\">Note:<\/div>\n<div class=\"callout-content\">\n<p>An enabled account maintains its IPv6 address information even if you enable it again with a different IPv6 address range.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3 id=\"disable-ipv6\">Disable IPv6<\/h3>\n<p>Click <em>Disable Account<\/em> to remove the IPv6 address from the selected account.<\/p>\n<div class=\"callout callout-info\">\n<div class=\"callout-heading\">Note:<\/div>\n<div class=\"callout-content\">\n        When you disable IPv6 on an account, the system unbinds that IPv6 address from your server and the account loses the address.
