You can restore one or many backups by account name or by date.<\/p>\n<div class=\"callout callout-warning\">\n<div class=\"callout-heading\">Important:<\/div>\n<div class=\"callout-content\">\n<ul>\n<li>To use this feature, you <strong>must<\/strong> enable account backups in WHM\u2019s <em>Backup Configuration<\/em> interface (<em>WHM &gt;&gt; Home &gt;&gt; Backup &gt;&gt; Backup Configuration<\/em>).<\/li>\n<li>To use a remote FTP destination as a source, it <strong>must<\/strong> already exist in the <em>Additional Destinations<\/em> section of WHM\u2019s <em>Backup Configuration<\/em> interface (<em>WHM &gt;&gt; Home &gt;&gt; Backup &gt;&gt; Backup Configuration<\/em>).<\/li>\n<li>To restore a <code>cpmove<\/code> file, use WHM\u2019s <em>Transfer or Restore a cPanel Account<\/em> interface (<em>WHM &gt;&gt; Home &gt;&gt; Transfers &gt;&gt; Transfer or Restore a cPanel Account<\/em>).<\/li>\n<\/ul><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<h2 id=\"the-backup-restoration-interface\">The <em>Backup Restoration<\/em> interface<\/h2>\n<p>This interface contains two tabs, the <em>Restore by Account<\/em> tab and the <em>Restore by Date<\/em> tab. In each tab, the interface marks the step that you\u2019ll need to complete with a blue border. The interface does not mark the <em>Options<\/em> section since you can customize your selections.<\/p>\n<p>In the example below, the blue border highlights the calendar. The selection indicates that the user should select a date from the <em>Available Backup Dates<\/em> calendar.<\/p>\n<p><img class=\"special-img-class\" style=\"width:50%\" src=\"https:\/\/ssdsunucum.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/backuprestoration.png\" title=\"backuprestoration\"><\/p>\n<h3 id=\"the-select-user-list\">The <em>Select User<\/em> list<\/h3>\n<p>The <em>Select User<\/em> list includes the cPanel accounts that own at least one backup. To select an account, click on the account\u2019s name. To filter the list, enter an account name in the <em>Filter Accounts<\/em> text box.<\/p>\n<div class=\"callout callout-warning\">\n<div class=\"callout-heading\">Note:<\/div>\n<div class=\"callout-content\">\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p>You may <strong>only<\/strong> add one account to the queue at a time. After you add an account to the queue, the account name appears in gray and you cannot select it again.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>You <strong>must<\/strong> wait for the restoration process to finish before you can add that account to the <em>Restoration Queue<\/em> list again.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<h3 id=\"the-available-backup-dates-calendar\">The <em>Available Backup Dates<\/em> calendar<\/h3>\n<p>This calendar shows the dates when a backup is available for the selected cPanel account. The interface marks the available calendar days\u2019 numbers in blue. You can select one of the dates. Calendar days with no backups for that account appear in gray, and you cannot select them.<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"the-options-list\">The <em>Options<\/em> list<\/h3>\n<p>This list allows you to control how much of the account\u2019s information you wish to restore. The system enables the <em>Restore Subdomains<\/em>, <em>Restore Mail Configuration<\/em>, and <em>Restore MySQL<\/em> options by default.<\/p>\n<p>The list contains the following options:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p><em>Restore Subdomains<\/em> \u2014 Restores any subdomains that appear in the account\u2019s backup archive.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><em>Restore Mail Configuration<\/em> \u2014 Restores the account\u2019s email configuration.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><em>Restore MySQL<\/em> \u2014 Restores the account\u2019s MySQL\u00ae databases.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><em>Restore from<\/em> \u2014 From the menu, select a backup destination from which to restore your backup.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><em>Give Dedicated IP Address<\/em> \u2014 Assigns the account a dedicated IP address during the restoration process.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div class=\"callout callout-warning\">\n<div class=\"callout-heading\">Note:<\/div>\n<div class=\"callout-content\">\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p>If you disable the <em>Restore Subdomains<\/em> option, the system restores aliases but not subdomains.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>The interface enables the <em>Restore from<\/em> menu when a local and a remote directory contain backups for the selected account. You can configure backup destinations in the <em>Additional Destinations<\/em> tab in WHM\u2019s <em>Backup Configuration<\/em> interface (<em>WHM &gt;&gt; Home &gt;&gt; Backup &gt;&gt; Backup Configuration<\/em>).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>If an account owns a dedicated IP address at the time of restoration, it maintains that same IP address. For more information, see The Give IP Dedicated IP Address behavior section below.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<h3 id=\"the-restoration-queue-table\">The <em>Restoration Queue<\/em> table<\/h3>\n<p>The <em>Restoration Queue<\/em> table lists the restoration status of the accounts that you selected to restore. This table contains the following columns:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p><em>Account<\/em> \u2014 The cPanel account\u2019s name.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><em>Restoration Date<\/em> \u2014 The date of the backup archive.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><em>Source<\/em> \u2014 The backup storage location\u2019s name.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><em>Status<\/em> \u2014 This column has the following options:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p><em>Pending<\/em> \u2014 The account can begin the restoration process.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><em>Restoring Account<\/em> \u2014 The restoration is in progress. You <strong>cannot<\/strong> remove an account from the queue during the restoration process.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><em>Completed<\/em> \u2014 The restoration finished with no errors. The system moves completed restorations to the bottom of the <em>Restoration Queue<\/em> table.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><em>Completed with warnings<\/em> \u2014 The restoration finished but encountered errors. Click <em>View Log<\/em> under the gear icon (<img src=\"https:\/\/ssdsunucum.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/cog.jpg\" alt=\"Gear\" title=\"cog\">) column for more information.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><em>Failed<\/em> \u2014 The restoration failed. The red failure notice box includes the reason for the failure. Click <em>View Log<\/em> under the gear icon (<img src=\"https:\/\/ssdsunucum.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/cog.jpg\" alt=\"Gear\" title=\"cog\">) column for more information.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><img src=\"https:\/\/ssdsunucum.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/cog.jpg\" alt=\"Gear\" title=\"cog\"> \u2014 Select from the following options:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p><em>Clear pending accounts<\/em> \u2014 Clears all <em>Pending<\/em> restorations from the queue.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><em>Clear completed accounts<\/em> \u2014 Clears all <em>Complete<\/em> and <em>Failed<\/em> restorations from the queue.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><em>Clear all error notices<\/em> \u2014 Clears all error notices from the queue.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><em>Clear all accounts<\/em> \u2014 Clears all the restorations from the queue, except for restorations with the Restoring Account status.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Accounts with the <em>Completed<\/em>, <em>Completed with warnings<\/em>, and <em>Failed status messages<\/em> will show the following options in this column:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p><em>Clear<\/em> \u2014 Clears the entry from the queue.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><em>View Log<\/em> \u2014 Opens the restoration log file, in a new browser tab, to correct any errors or warnings.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 id=\"the-restore-by-account-tab\">The <em>Restore by Account<\/em> tab<\/h2>\n<p>The interface in the <em>Restore by Account<\/em> tab allows you to choose which cPanel accounts to restore.<\/p>\n<p>To restore a cPanel account, perform the following steps:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>\n<p>Select one or more cPanel accounts to restore from the <em>Select User<\/em> list.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Select an available day (blue-colored number) from the <em>Available Backup Dates<\/em> calendar.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Select any desired options from the <em>Options<\/em> list.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Click <em>Add Account to Queue<\/em>. The cPanel account name will appear in the <em>Restoration Queue<\/em> table below with a <em>Pending<\/em> status. This table displays the status of the restoration.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Click <em>Restore<\/em> to start the restoration process. You may add more accounts to the queue while the restoration is in progress.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2 id=\"the-restore-by-date-tab\">The <em>Restore by Date<\/em> tab<\/h2>\n<p>The interface in the <em>Restore by Date<\/em> tab allows you to restore accounts with backup archives from a specific date.<\/p>\n<p>To restore a cPanel account\u2019s backup archives from a specific date, perform the following steps:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>\n<p>Select the desired available day (blue-colored number) from the <em>Available Restoration Dates<\/em> calendar.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Select one or more cPanel accounts to restore from the <em>Select User<\/em> list.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Select any desired options from the <em>Options<\/em> list.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Click <em>Add Account to Queue<\/em>. The cPanel account name will appear in the <em>Restoration Queue<\/em> table below with a <em>Pending<\/em> status. This table shows the status of the restoration.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Click <em>Restore<\/em> to start the restoration process. The new IP address may or may not match the account\u2019s IP address that you used when you performed the backup.
