Overview<\/h2>\n

This interface displays the location of the skeleton directory. The skeleton directory allows you to easily copy the same files in to every new account\u2019s public_html<\/code> and public_ftp<\/code> directories when the system creates the account.<\/p>\n

  • When a visitor accesses http:\/\/example.com\/<\/code>, they will see the contents of example.com<\/code>\u2019s public_html<\/code> directory.<\/li>\n
  • When a visitor accesses http:\/\/example.com\/subdirectory<\/code>, they will see the contents of example.com<\/code>\u2019s public_html\/subdirectory<\/code>.<\/li>\n
  • FTP users can download the contents of the public_ftp<\/code> directory.<\/li>\n<\/ul><\/div>\n<\/div>\n

    Create a skeleton directory<\/h2>\n

    To set up your skeleton directory, perform the following steps:<\/p>\n

      \n
    1. Plan and create the content that you wish to supply for your new users.<\/li>\n
    2. Place the appropriate files and subdirectories in the appropriate directory:\n
        \n
      • \/root\/cpanel3-skel\/public_html<\/code> \u2014 A skeleton directory for the root<\/code> user.<\/li>\n
      • \/home\/reseller\/cpanel3-skel\/public_html<\/code> \u2014 A skeleton directory for a reseller, where home<\/code> represents the name of the home<\/code> partition, and reseller<\/code> represents the reseller\u2019s username.\n

        The system copies these files to the new accounts\u2019 public_html<\/code> directories when it creates accounts.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n

      • Place the appropriate FTP-related files in the appropriate directory:\n

        • \/root\/cpanel3-skel\/public_ftp<\/code> \u2014 A skeleton FTP directory for the root<\/code> user.<\/li>\n
        • \/home\/reseller\/cpanel3-skel\/public_ftp<\/code> \u2014 A skeleton FTP directory for a reseller, where home<\/code> represents the name of the home<\/code> partition, and reseller<\/code> represents the reseller\u2019s username.\n
