Administrators can set a new password without the original password. This becomes useful when users lose, forget, or compromise their password.<\/p>\n<div class=\"callout callout-info\">\n<div class=\"callout-heading\">Note:<\/div>\n<div class=\"callout-content\">\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p>You <strong>cannot<\/strong> retrieve passwords. If a user loses or forgets a password, you <strong>must<\/strong> create a new password.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>cPanel users can reset their account password in cPanel\u2019s <em>Password and Security<\/em> interface (<em>cPanel &gt;&gt; Home &gt;&gt; Preferences &gt;&gt; Password and Security<\/em>)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<h2 id=\"change-password\">Change password<\/h2>\n<p>To change an account\u2019s password, perform the following steps:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Select the account for which to change the password.<\/li>\n<li>Enter and confirm the new password in the appropriate text boxes.\n<div class=\"callout callout-warning\">\n<div class=\"callout-heading\">Important:<\/div>\n<div class=\"callout-content\">\n        Use a secure password. A secure password is <strong>not<\/strong> a dictionary word, and it contains uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, and symbols.\n    <\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>Select <em>Synchronize MySQL password<\/em> to use the same password for both MySQL\u00ae and the cPanel account.\n<div class=\"callout callout-info\">\n<div class=\"callout-heading\">Note:<\/div>\n<div class=\"callout-content\">\n        This option <strong>only<\/strong> appears if the the <code>.my.cnf<\/code> file exists in the <code>\/home\/USERNAME<\/code> directory where <code>USERNAME<\/code> represents the account\u2019s username.\n    <\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>Select <em>Enable Digest Authentication<\/em> to enable digest authentication support. This option allows you to access Web Disk through a clear text connection or an unencrypted connection.
