This feature allows you to suspend and unsuspend accounts on your server. For example, you may wish to temporarily disable delinquent accounts.<\/p>\n

List of accounts<\/h2>\n

The interface will display the action the system will take with incoming email for suspended cPanel accounts. You can edit this setting in WHM\u2019s Exim Configuration Manager<\/em> interface (WHM >> Home >> Service Configuration >> Exim Configuration Manager<\/em>).<\/p>\n

The interface lists all of the accounts on your server. The interface displays active, unsuspended accounts in white, and displays suspended accounts in red. In the example below, the example1.com<\/code> account is suspended:<\/p>\n

Suspend an account<\/h2>\n

To suspend an account, perform the following steps:<\/p>\n

    \n

    Select the account that you wish to suspend.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  2. \n

    Enter a reason in the text box.<\/p>\n

    We recommend that you always<\/strong> specify a reason for account suspension. If a reseller owns the account, the reason may help that reseller to resolve the issue quickly.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n

    To ensure that resellers cannot unsuspend the account, select the Prevent resellers from unsuspending<\/em> checkbox.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  4. \n

    Click Suspend<\/em>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Unsuspend an account<\/h2>\n

    To unsuspend an account, perform the following steps:<\/p>\n

    1. \n

      Select the account that you wish to unsuspend.<\/p>\n

      Remember:<\/div>\n
      \n

      Only users with root<\/code> privileges can unsuspend a locked account.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n

    2. \n

      To keep service proxying, select the Retain Service Proxying<\/em> checkbox. Most users do not need to select this checkbox.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    3. \n

      Click Unsuspend<\/em>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      Limitations<\/h2>\n

      This interface has the following limitations:<\/p>\n

        \n
      • The system will not<\/strong> suspend any of the account\u2019s Amazon RDS\u2122 remote databases.<\/li>\n
      • This feature uses Apache\u00ae virtual host include files to redirect incoming web traffic to an Account Suspended interface.<\/li>\n
      • You cannot change a suspended account\u2019s password.\n
          \n
        • When you suspend an account, the system adds a special character to the front of the cPanel user\u2019s password field. This special character creates an invalid hash, which results in an invalid password message to the cPanel user.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
