Overview<\/h2>\n

After you launch a cPanel & WHM instance on the Alibaba\u00ae Cloud, you can manage it with the Alibaba Cloud Console. This document describes common tasks that your cPanel & WHM instance on the Alibaba Cloud may require.<\/p>\n

    Log in to the Alibaba Cloud Console<\/h2>\n

    To log in to the Console<\/em> interface, perform the following steps:<\/p>\n

      \n
    1. \n

      Navigate to the Alibaba Cloud website.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    2. \n

      Click Console<\/em>. The Login<\/em> interface will appear.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    3. \n

      Enter your email address in the Account<\/em> text box.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    4. \n

      Enter your password in the Password<\/em> text box.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    5. \n

      Click Sign In<\/em>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      Manage Alibaba instances<\/h2>\n

      To manage an Alibaba instance, perform the following steps:<\/p>\n

        \n
      1. \n

        From the left navigation bar in the Console<\/em> interface, click Instances<\/em>. The Instances<\/em> interface will appear.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

      2. \n

        From the Instances<\/em> interface, select the region in which the instance exists.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

      3. \n

        Select the instance that you wish to manage.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

      4. \n

        Select the desired action from the table:<\/p>\n

          \n
        • \n

          Stop<\/em> \u2014 This action will stop the instance.<\/p>\n

            \n
          • \n

            The first time you stop an instance, a warning message will appear with details about stopped images.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

          • \n

            Click OK<\/em>. You will see a confirmation message.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

          • \n

            Select Stop<\/em> to perform a graceful stop of the instance or select Force Stop<\/em> to immediately stop the instance.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

          • \n

            Click OK<\/em>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n

          • \n

            Restart<\/em> \u2014 This action will restart the instance.<\/p>\n

              \n
            • \n

              Select Restart<\/em> to perform a graceful restart of the instance or Force Restart<\/em> to immediately restart the instance.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

            • \n

              Click OK<\/em>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n

            • \n

              Reset Password<\/em> \u2014 This action will reset the root<\/code> password on the instance.<\/p>\n

                Enter a new password.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

              • \n

                Confirm the new password.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

              • \n

                Click OK<\/em>.<\/p>\n

                You must<\/strong> restart the instance for the password change to take effect.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n

                Release<\/em> \u2014 This action will delete the instance. Read the How to delete an Alibaba instance section below for more information.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                Delete an Alibaba instance<\/h2>\n

                • Alibaba will bill you for all active instances on your account. We strongly<\/strong> recommend that you stop and delete unused instances to avoid unnecessary costs.<\/li>\n
                • When you delete an instance, the system will delete the instance\u2019s data.<\/li>\n<\/ul><\/div>\n<\/div>\n

                  To delete an instance, perform the following steps:<\/p>\n

                    \n
                  1. \n

                    From the left navigation bar in the Console<\/em> interface, click Instances<\/em>. The Instances<\/em> interface will appear.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

                  2. \n

                    Select the desired instance.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

                  3. \n

                    Click Release<\/em>. A warning message will appear.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

                  4. \n

                    Select Release Now<\/em>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

                  5. \n

                    Click Next<\/em>. A confirmation message will appear.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

                  6. \n

                    Click OK<\/em>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                    You must also release any Elastic IP Addresses (EIP) that the deleted instance owned to avoid unnecessary costs.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n

                    Release an elastic IP address<\/h2>\n

                    To release an elastic IP address (EIP), perform the following steps:<\/p>\n

                      In the left navigation bar, click Elastic IP Addresses<\/em>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

                    2. \n

                      Select the EIP that the deleted instance owned.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

                    3. \n
