{"id":530,"date":"2021-07-23T12:32:13","date_gmt":"2021-07-23T12:32:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ssdsunucum.com\/blog\/cpanel-whm-version-92-for-centos-8\/"},"modified":"2021-07-23T12:32:13","modified_gmt":"2021-07-23T12:32:13","slug":"cpanel-whm-version-92-for-centos-8","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ssdsunucum.com\/blog\/cpanel-whm-version-92-for-centos-8\/","title":{"rendered":"cPanel &#038; WHM version 92 for CentOS 8"},"content":{"rendered":"<\/p>\n<div class=\"col-md-9\">\n<div class=\"flex-column flex-md-row article-header\"><\/div>\n<hr>\n<h2 id=\"overview\">Overview<\/h2>\n<p>This document details information for cPanel &#038; WHM\u2019s software releases for CentOS 8. cPanel &#038; WHM version 92 is available for use in servers running CentOS 8.<\/p>\n<div class=\"callout callout-danger\">\n<div class=\"callout-heading\">Warning:<\/div>\n<div class=\"callout-content\">\n<p>cPanel &#038; WHM version 92 for CentOS 8 is <strong>experimental<\/strong> software and we do <strong>not<\/strong> recommend using it in production environments.<\/p>\n<p>Upgrade to a later version of cPanel &#038; WHM to use CentOS 8 and CloudLinux\u2122 8 in production environments.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<h2 id=\"operating-systems\">Operating Systems<\/h2>\n<p>We\u2019ve written this document for advanced WHM users who are familiar with installing CentOS in their servers. For more information, read our Installation Guide.<\/p>\n<p>We tested cPanel &#038; WHM version 92 in the following environments:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>CentOS 8<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 id=\"changes-that-impacted-functionality\">Changes that impacted functionality<\/h2>\n<p>These are the biggest changes in CentOS 8 that affected functionality in cPanel &#038; WHM:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>CentOS 8 removed support for the TCP Wrappers package (<code>tcp_wrappers<\/code>).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 id=\"functionality\">Functionality<\/h2>\n<p>Currently, functionality of cPanel &#038; WHM version 92 for CentOS 8 is limited to the following interfaces and functions:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Installation \u2014 Users should be able to successfully install cPanel &#038; WHM version 92 in a CentOS 8 server.<\/li>\n<li>Account creation and management:\n<ul>\n<li>Account Functions<\/li>\n<li>Account Information<\/li>\n<li>Backup<\/li>\n<li>Multi-Account Functions<\/li>\n<li>Packages<\/li>\n<li>Resellers<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Webhosting:\n<ul>\n<li>cPanel<\/li>\n<li>Service Configuration\n<ul>\n<li>FTP Server Configuration \u2014 We removed the <em>TCPwrappers<\/em> section from the interface. This section appeared when a user installed ProFTPD.<\/li>\n<li>FTP Server Selection \u2014 We removed the string \u201cSupports TCP Wrappers based access controls.\u201d from the ProFTPD <em>Advantages<\/em> cell.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Software<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Email management:\n<ul>\n<li>Email<\/li>\n<li>Server Contacts<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>DNS tools:\n<ul>\n<li>Clusters<\/li>\n<li>DNS Functions<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>MySQL\u00ae Management:\n<ul>\n<li>SQL Services\n<div class=\"callout callout-warning\">\n<div class=\"callout-heading\">Warning:<\/div>\n<div class=\"callout-content\">\n<p>MySQL 8 is the default database service for cPanel &#038; WHM version 92 for CentOS 8. During the installation process, system administrators have the ability to select the default database between MySQL 8 and MariaDB 10.3 <strong>only<\/strong>. For more information, read our Installation Guide.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Firewall Management:\n<ul>\n<li>Security Center\n<ul>\n<li>Host Access Control \u2014 We updated this interface\u2019s look and feel to accommodate CentOS 8\u2019s removal of support for the TCP Wrappers package (<code>tcp_wrappers<\/code>).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>SSL-TLS<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Network Management:\n<ul>\n<li>IP Functions<\/li>\n<li>Networking Setup<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Additional tools:\n<ul>\n<li>Development<\/li>\n<li>Restart Services<\/li>\n<li>Scripts<\/li>\n<li>Server Configuration<\/li>\n<li>Server Status<\/li>\n<li>System Health<\/li>\n<li>System Reboot<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We haven\u2019t tested the functionality for cPanel &#038; WHM version 92 in the WHM interfaces and functions below.
