Overview<\/h2>\n

This document describes the steps to uninstall LiteSpeed Web Server from cPanel & WHM. These steps will prevent an accidental reinstallation of LiteSpeed Web Server.<\/p>\n

Uninstall LiteSpeed Web Server<\/h2>\n

To uninstall LiteSpeed Web Server, perform the following steps:<\/p>\n

  1. \n

    As the root<\/code> user, convert your server to use the Apache web server. To do so, run the following command:\n<\/p>\n

    \/usr\/local\/lsws\/admin\/misc\/cp_switch_ws.sh apache<\/code><\/pre>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n
  2. \n
    Ensure that Apache is running. You can do so from WHM\u2019s Apache Status<\/em> interface (WHM >> Home >> Server Status >> Apache Status<\/em>).<\/p>\n
      \n
    • The Restart Time<\/em> header will indicate the time and date when Apache restarted.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
    • \n
      Uninstall the LiteSpeed Web server plugin. From the command line, run the WHM plugin uninstallation script:\n<\/p>\n
      \n
      \/usr\/local\/cpanel\/whostmgr\/docroot\/cgi\/lsws\/lsws_whm_plugin_uninstall.sh<\/code><\/pre>\n<\/div>\n

      Note:<\/div>\n
      \n
      This action only<\/strong> removes the LiteSpeed Web Server plugin from your server. It does not<\/strong> remove LiteSpeed Web Server from your server.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n
    • \n
      Remove LiteSpeed Web Server files from your server. The following command removes the LiteSpeed Web Server directory (lsws<\/code>) from the \/usr\/local<\/code> directory:\n<\/p>\n

      \/usr\/local\/lsws\/admin\/misc\/uninstall.sh<\/code><\/pre>\n<\/div>\n

      Note:<\/div>\n
      \n
      Users who purchased LiteSpeed Web Server through cPanel, L.L.C must<\/strong> complete the following step. Otherwise, you may stop at step 4.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n

      Users who purchased LiteSpeed Web Server through the cPanel Store must create a touch<\/code> file. This file will prevent the upcp<\/code> script from reinstalling LiteSpeed Web Server during the next cPanel & WHM update.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
      To create the touch file, run the following command:<\/p>\n
