These steps will prevent an accidental reinstallation of LiteSpeed Web Server.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"uninstall-litespeed-web-server\">Uninstall LiteSpeed Web Server<\/h2>\n<p>To uninstall LiteSpeed Web Server, perform the following steps:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>\n<p>As the <code>root<\/code> user, convert your server to use the Apache web server. To do so, run the following command:\n<\/p>\n<div class=\"highlight\">\n<pre style=\"color:#f8f8f2;background-color:#272822;-moz-tab-size:4;-o-tab-size:4;tab-size:4\"><code class=\"language-bash\" data-lang=\"bash\">\/usr\/local\/lsws\/admin\/misc\/cp_switch_ws.sh apache<\/code><\/pre>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Ensure that Apache is running. You can do so from WHM\u2019s <em>Apache Status<\/em> interface (<em>WHM &gt;&gt; Home &gt;&gt; Server Status &gt;&gt; Apache Status<\/em>).<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The <em>Restart Time<\/em> header will indicate the time and date when Apache restarted.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Uninstall the LiteSpeed Web server plugin. From the command line, run the WHM plugin uninstallation script:\n<\/p>\n<div class=\"highlight\">\n<pre style=\"color:#f8f8f2;background-color:#272822;-moz-tab-size:4;-o-tab-size:4;tab-size:4\"><code class=\"language-bash\" data-lang=\"bash\">\/usr\/local\/cpanel\/whostmgr\/docroot\/cgi\/lsws\/lsws_whm_plugin_uninstall.sh<\/code><\/pre>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"callout callout-info\">\n<div class=\"callout-heading\">Note:<\/div>\n<div class=\"callout-content\">\n<p>This action <strong>only<\/strong> removes the LiteSpeed Web Server plugin from your server. It does <strong>not<\/strong> remove LiteSpeed Web Server from your server.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Remove LiteSpeed Web Server files from your server. The following command removes the LiteSpeed Web Server directory (<code>lsws<\/code>) from the <code>\/usr\/local<\/code> directory:\n<\/p>\n<div class=\"highlight\">\n<pre style=\"color:#f8f8f2;background-color:#272822;-moz-tab-size:4;-o-tab-size:4;tab-size:4\"><code class=\"language-bash\" data-lang=\"bash\">\/usr\/local\/lsws\/admin\/misc\/uninstall.sh<\/code><\/pre>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"callout callout-info\">\n<div class=\"callout-heading\">Note:<\/div>\n<div class=\"callout-content\">\n<p>Users who purchased LiteSpeed Web Server through cPanel, L.L.C <strong>must<\/strong> complete the following step. Otherwise, you may stop at step 4.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Users who purchased LiteSpeed Web Server through the cPanel Store must create a <code>touch<\/code> file. This file will prevent the <code>upcp<\/code> script from reinstalling LiteSpeed Web Server during the next cPanel &#038; WHM update.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>To create the touch file, run the following command:<\/p>\n<div class=\"highlight\">\n<pre style=\"color:#f8f8f2;background-color:#272822;-moz-tab-size:4;-o-tab-size:4;tab-size:4\"><code class=\"language-bash\" data-lang=\"bash\">touch \/var\/cpanel\/disable_auto_lsws<\/code><\/pre>\n<\/div><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Overview This document describes the steps to uninstall LiteSpeed Web Server from cPanel &#038; WHM.
