{"id":487,"date":"2021-07-23T12:31:18","date_gmt":"2021-07-23T12:31:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ssdsunucum.com\/blog\/connect-to-web-disk-with-third-party-software\/"},"modified":"2021-07-23T12:31:18","modified_gmt":"2021-07-23T12:31:18","slug":"connect-to-web-disk-with-third-party-software","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ssdsunucum.com\/blog\/connect-to-web-disk-with-third-party-software\/","title":{"rendered":"Connect to Web Disk with Third-Party Software"},"content":{"rendered":"<\/p>\n<div class=\"col-md-9\">\n<div class=\"flex-column flex-md-row article-header\"><\/div>\n<hr>\n<h2 id=\"overview\">Overview<\/h2>\n<p>You may want to connect to your <em>Web Disk<\/em> through software that includes the WebDAV functionality, such as Transmit\u2122 or BitKinex.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"connect-to-web-disk-with-a-configuration-script\">Connect to Web Disk with a configuration script<\/h2>\n<p>cPanel\u2019s <em>Web Disk<\/em> interface (<em>cPanel &gt;&gt; Home &gt;&gt; Files &gt;&gt; Web Disk<\/em>) provides configuration scripts for many common operating systems, applications, and devices. Availability of configuration scripts depends on the version of cPanel &#038; WHM that your server uses.<\/p>\n<p>To download the configuration script for a supported operating system or application, perform the following steps:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>\n<p>Navigate to cPanel\u2019s <em>Web Disk<\/em> interface (<em>cPanel &gt;&gt; Home  &gt;&gt; Files &gt;&gt; Web Disk<\/em>).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Click <em>Configure Client Access<\/em> for the desired account.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Select the desired connection type from the menus.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Click <em>Download Configuration Script<\/em> to download the configuration script.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>If your system will not uncompress it automatically, unzip the <code>.zip<\/code> configuration script file.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Search for the <code>hostname Secure WebDisk<\/code> file, where hostname represents your server\u2019s hostname.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Open the file and allow it to run in order to configure <em>Web Disk<\/em>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2 id=\"connect-to-web-disk-manually\">Connect to Web Disk manually<\/h2>\n<div class=\"callout callout-warning\">\n<div class=\"callout-heading\">Important:<\/div>\n<div class=\"callout-content\">\n<p>To find the configuration details for your <em>Web Disk<\/em> account, navigate to cPanel\u2019s <em>Web Disk<\/em> interface (<em>cPanel &gt;&gt; Home &gt;&gt; Files &gt;&gt; Web Disk<\/em>) and click <em>Configure Client Access<\/em> for the desired account. The interface will display the configuration information for the account.<\/p>\n<p>In every connection method, <em>Additional Web Disk Account<\/em> usernames <strong>must<\/strong> include the domain for the account (for example, <code>username@example.com<\/code>). The <em>Main Web Disk Account<\/em> does <strong>not<\/strong> require the domain.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<h3 id=\"apple-operating-system\">Apple Operating system<\/h3>\n<p>To connect to Apple\u00ae operating systems (for example, macOS\u00ae X or Sierra), perform the following steps:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>\n<p>Open <em>Apple\u2019s Finder<\/em> application.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>From the <em>Go<\/em> menu, select <em>Connect to Server<\/em>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Enter the <em>Web Disk<\/em> server\u2019s URL in the <em>Server Address<\/em> text box (for example, <code>https:\/\/example.com:2078<\/code>).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Click <em>Connect<\/em>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Enter your <em>Web Disk<\/em> account\u2019s username and password.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Click <em>Connect<\/em>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3 id=\"bitkinex\">BitKinex<\/h3>\n<p>To connect to <em>Web Disk<\/em> with BitKinex, perform the following steps:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>\n<p>Open BitKinex.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Select <em>Http\/WebDAV<\/em> in the menu. <\/p>\n<figure>\n<img src=\"https:\/\/ssdsunucum.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/bitkinex1.png\" title=\"bitkinex1\"><br \/>\n<\/figure>\n<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>In the <em>Server<\/em> window, enter your <em>Web Disk<\/em> account\u2019s login information. If you do not see an address bar, click <em>Go<\/em> and then select <em>Location<\/em>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Paste the following address into the address bar, where <code>example.com<\/code> represents your server\u2019s hostname.<\/p>\n<div class=\"highlight\">\n<pre style=\"color:#f8f8f2;background-color:#272822;-moz-tab-size:4;-o-tab-size:4;tab-size:4\"><code class=\"language-perl\" data-lang=\"perl\">davs:<span style=\"color:#e6db74\">\/\/<\/span>example<span style=\"color:#f92672\">.<\/span>com:2078<\/code><\/pre>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>To save the location for future use, click <em>Bookmarks<\/em> and then select <em>Add Bookmark<\/em>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3 id=\"transmit\">Transmit<\/h3>\n<p>To connect to <em>Web Disk<\/em> through Transmit\u2122, perform the following steps:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>\n<p>Open Transmit.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Click <em>WebDAV<\/em>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Enter your <em>Web Disk<\/em> account\u2019s login information.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Click <em>Connect<\/em> to open the Web Disk folder. <\/p>\n<figure>\n<img src=\"https:\/\/ssdsunucum.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/transmit1.png\" title=\"transmit1\"><br \/>\n<\/figure>\n<\/p>\n<div class=\"callout callout-info\">\n<div class=\"callout-heading\">Note:<\/div>\n<div class=\"callout-content\">\n        Choose the <em>Mount as Disk<\/em> option to access the Web Disk directly from your <em>Finder<\/em> window.\n    <\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p> For more information, visit the Transmit website.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3 id=\"windows-operating-system\">Windows\u00ae Operating System<\/h3>\n<p>To connect to Microsoft\u00ae Windows operating systems (for example, Windows\u00ae 8 or Windows\u00ae 10), perform the following steps:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>\n<p>In your preferred browser, navigate to <code>https:\/\/example.com:2078<\/code>, where <code>example.com<\/code> represents your server\u2019s hostname.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>In the <em>Start<\/em> menu, select <em>My Network Places<\/em>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Perform the appropriate actions for your system:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p><strong>Other Windows operating systems<\/strong> \u2014 Click the icon for the domain that corresponds to the <em>Web Disk<\/em> account\u2019s domain.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><strong>Windows\u00ae XP<\/strong> \u2014 Click Add a network place, click Next, select Choose another network location, and then follow the prompts to finish the configuration process.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<div class=\"callout callout-warning\">\n<div class=\"callout-heading\">Important:<\/div>\n<div class=\"callout-content\">\n<ul>\n<li>If you use Windows XP, Windows\u00ae Vista, or Windows\u00ae 2003, you may experience errors when you attempt to connect to your <em>Web Disk<\/em> account. These operating systems require a patch that Microsoft no longer offers, and it no longer supports these operating systems.<\/li>\n<li>If you use Windows\u00ae 7, a discrepancy may exist between the amount of disk space that the system reports and the actual available disk space.
