This is useful if, for example, your hosting provider has not included Apache SpamAssassin\u2122 in your cPanel account.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"create-a-spam-email-filter\">Create a spam email filter<\/h2>\n<p>To create a spam filter, perform the following steps:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Navigate to cPanel\u2019s <em>Spam Filters<\/em> interface (<em>cPanel<\/em> &gt;&gt; <em>Home<\/em> &gt;&gt; <em>Email<\/em> &gt;&gt; <em>Spam Filters<\/em>).<\/li>\n<li>Check whether Apache SpamAssassin is enabled. If it is not, click <em>Enable Apache SpamAssassin<\/em>.<\/li>\n<li>Navigate to cPanel\u2019s <em>Global Email Filters<\/em> interface (<em>cPanel<\/em> &gt;&gt; <em>Home<\/em>  &gt;&gt; <em>Email<\/em> &gt;&gt; <em>Global Email Filters<\/em>).<\/li>\n<li>Click <em>Create a New Filter<\/em>.<\/li>\n<li>Enter the name of your filter in the <em>Filter Name<\/em> text box.<\/li>\n<li>Select <em>Spam Bar<\/em> from the first menu in the <em>Rules<\/em> section.<\/li>\n<li>Select <em>contains<\/em> from the second menu in the <em>Rules<\/em> section.<\/li>\n<li>Enter the spam score in the text box. Represent the desired spam score with plus (<code>+<\/code>) characters.\n<div class=\"callout callout-info\">\n<div class=\"callout-heading\">Note:<\/div>\n<div class=\"callout-content\">\n        For example, to filter all of the mail to which Apache SpamAssassin has assigned a spam score of five or higher, enter <code>+++++<\/code> in the text box.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Apache SpamAssassin examines every email message for spam characteristics, and then assigns it an overall score based on the number of spam-related traits found within the message.<\/li>\n<li>The lower the spam score, the more aggressive the spam filter will be.<\/li>\n<li>A spam score of five (<code>+++++<\/code>) is a suitable setting for a single user. ISPs should use a higher score.<\/li>\n<\/ul><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>Select <em>Deliver<\/em> to folder from the menu in the <em>Actions<\/em> section.<\/li>\n<li>Enter the name of the folder to which you wish to send your spam email.\n<ul>\n<li>Click <em>Browse<\/em> to see a list of your folders.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Click <em>Create<\/em> to create, save, and activate the spam filter.<\/li>\n<\/ol><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Overview You can create an email filter that sorts and redirects incoming spam.
