We released the full system in cPanel &#038; WHM version 78.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<h2 id=\"overview\">Overview<\/h2>\n<p>cPanel Analytics features collect data about interface use and server configuration. We plan to use this information to improve the user experience in our products.<\/p>\n<p>We take your privacy <strong>very<\/strong> seriously. We have taken precautions to ensure that the data we collect is secure. We retain cPanel Analytics data for 26 months and then destroy it.<\/p>\n<div class=\"callout callout-warning\">\n<div class=\"callout-heading\">Important:<\/div>\n<div class=\"callout-content\">\n<ul>\n<li>Configuration Analytics is <strong>required<\/strong>. Interface Analytics is <strong>optional<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>You can enable or disable Interface Analytics at the account or server level at any time. We <strong>don\u2019t<\/strong> collect <strong>any<\/strong> Interface Analytics data until the <code>root<\/code> user enables this at the server level. Interface Analytics also <strong>doesn\u2019t<\/strong> collect data about specific accounts\u2019 use until that user enables data collection at the account level.<\/li>\n<li>We <strong>strongly<\/strong> recommend that plugin developers also anonymize any collected data to respect user privacy.<\/li>\n<li>Interface Analytics respects the <code>dnt<\/code> (Do Not Track) header. If you have disabled tracking in your browser, the feature will <strong>not<\/strong> collect data about you.<\/li>\n<\/ul><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<h2 id=\"interface-analytics\">Interface Analytics<\/h2>\n<p>Interface Analytics allows us to collect data about how users navigate cPanel, WHM, and Webmail from within the interface. In cPanel &#038; WHM version 78 and later, we automatically install the Interface Analytics plugin by default but do <strong>not<\/strong> enable it. The server owner <strong>and<\/strong> individual users <strong>must<\/strong> enable this before data collection begins.<\/p>\n<p>When you enable Interface Analytics at the server level <strong>and<\/strong> users enable it at the account level, the plugin gathers several types of data. For more information, read our cPanel Analytics &#8211; The Data We Use documentation.<\/p>\n<div class=\"callout callout-info\">\n<div class=\"callout-heading\">Note:<\/div>\n<div class=\"callout-content\">\n<p>We do <strong>not<\/strong> track the content that exists on cPanel accounts. Additionally, the system removes URL-query parameters before cPanel, L.L.C. receives the data.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"tabs-main-wrapper\">\n<ul class=\"nav nav-pills mb-3\" id=\"pills-tab\" role=\"tablist\">\n<li class=\"nav-item\">\n    In cPanel &#038; WHM version 78 and later\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"nav-item\">\n    In cPanel &#038; WHM version 74 through 76\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div class=\"tab-content\" id=\"pills-tabContent\">\n<div class=\"tab-pane fade show active\" id=\"tab-title-1\" role=\"tabpanel\" aria-labelledby=\"pills-home-tab\">\n<h4 id=\"enable-or-disable-at-the-server-level\">Enable or disable at the server level<\/h4>\n<p>To enable or disable Interface Analytics at the server level, use WHM\u2019s <em>Configure cPanel Analytics<\/em> interface (<em>WHM &gt;&gt; Home &gt;&gt; Server Configuration &gt;&gt; Configure cPanel Analytics<\/em>).<\/p>\n<h4 id=\"enable-or-disable-interface-analytics-at-the-account-level\">Enable or disable Interface Analytics at the account level<\/h4>\n<div class=\"callout callout-success\">\n<div class=\"callout-heading\">Remember:<\/div>\n<div class=\"callout-content\">\n<p>The <code>root<\/code> user <strong>must<\/strong> enable Interface Analytics at the server level before users can enable Interface Analytics for their accounts.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>To enable or disable cPanel Analytics\u2019 Interface Analytics for the current account, perform the following steps:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>\n<p>Click the graph icon (<img src=\"https:\/\/ssdsunucum.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/cpanel-analytics-graph-icon.png\" width=\"20\" title=\"cpanel-analytics-graph-icon\">) in the bottom right corner of the interface.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Select the desired Interface Analytics setting:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Select <em>Allow Data Collection<\/em> to enable data collection.<\/li>\n<li>Select <em>Deny Data Collection<\/em> to disable data collection.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"tab-pane fade \" id=\"tab-title-2\" role=\"tabpanel\" aria-labelledby=\"pills-home-tab\">\n<h4 id=\"enable-or-disable-interface-analytics-at-the-server-level\">Enable or disable Interface Analytics at the server level<\/h4>\n<div class=\"callout callout-warning\">\n<div class=\"callout-heading\">Important:<\/div>\n<div class=\"callout-content\">\n<p>You must <strong>manually<\/strong> install and enable this plugin at the server level. Then, individual users can enable it to begin data collection for their account.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<pre><code>yum install cpanel-analytics\n<\/code><\/pre>\n<p>When the <code>\/usr\/local\/cpanel\/scripts\/maintenance<\/code> script runs, it checks for the <code>\/etc\/yum.repos.d\/cpanel-plugins.repo<\/code> repository. It creates the repository if it does not exist. This repository contains the cPanel Analytics plugin as well as other cPanel-provided plugins.<\/p>\n<h4 id=\"enable-or-disable-interface-analytics-at-the-account-level\">Enable or disable Interface Analytics at the account level<\/h4>\n<p>After installing the <code>cpanel-analytics<\/code> plugin, an icon will appear in the cPanel, WHM, and Webmail interfaces.<\/p>\n<div class=\"callout callout-info\">\n<div class=\"callout-heading\">Note:<\/div>\n<div class=\"callout-content\">\n<p>This icon will also appear on the right side of each interface in cPanel &#038; WHM and in Webmail.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>To enable or disable Interface Analytics for the current account, perform the following steps:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>\n<p>Click the graph icon (<img src=\"https:\/\/ssdsunucum.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/cpanel-analytics-graph-icon.png\" width=\"20\" title=\"cpanel-analytics-graph-icon\">) in the bottom-right corner of the interface.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Select the desired cPanel Analytics setting:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Select <em>Allow Data Collection<\/em> to enable data collection.<\/li>\n<li>Select <em>Deny Data Collection<\/em> to disable data collection.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<h2 id=\"configuration-analytics\">Configuration Analytics<\/h2>\n<div class=\"callout callout-danger\">\n<div class=\"callout-heading\">Important:<\/div>\n<div class=\"callout-content\">\n<p>In cPanel &#038; WHM version 78 and later, Configuration Analytics participation is <strong>required<\/strong>. We have classed this data as operational data that cPanel, L.L.C. requires in order to make vital business decisions.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>When you upgrade to cPanel &#038; WHM version 78 or higher, the system will automatically enable Configuration Analytics.<\/li>\n<li>This does <strong>not<\/strong> enable Interface Analytics or alter your participation (or choice not to participate) in that program.<\/li>\n<\/ul><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Configuration Analytics gathers your server\u2019s update logs and sends them to cPanel, L.L.C. for analysis. Whenever the <code>\/usr\/local\/cpanel\/scripts\/upcp<\/code> script runs, it creates a tarball file to send. This tarball contains the update log data that the system stored since your last update.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The <code>gather-update-logs<\/code> script sends this data.<\/li>\n<li>For more information, read our cPanel Analytics &#8211; The Data We Use documentation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 id=\"enable-or-disable-in-cpanel-whm-versions-74-and-76\">Enable or disable in cPanel &#038; WHM versions 74 and 76<\/h3>\n<p>With the exception of Interface Analytics, in cPanel &#038; WHM version 74 and 76, you can enable or disable cPanel Analytics features in the <em>Support<\/em> section of WHM\u2019s <em>Tweak Settings<\/em> interface (<em>WHM &gt;&gt; Home &gt;&gt; Server Configuration &gt;&gt; Tweak Settings<\/em>).<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Valid for versions 82 through the latest version Version: 82 Important: We released the first version of cPanel Analytics\u2019 Interface Analytics plugin in cPanel &#038; WHM version 74.
