Overview<\/h2>\n

The \/var\/cpanel\/sysinfo.config<\/code> file stores the server\u2019s system information settings. cPanel & WHM uses this file to determine which RPMs to download during installation and upgrades.<\/p>\n

If the detection system fails to correctly identify the distribution or version of Linux, you can manually override those settings.<\/p>\n

Initial settings<\/h2>\n

cPanel & WHM runs the \/usr\/local\/cpanel\/scripts\/gensysinfo<\/code> script as part of nightly maintenance to automatically generate the sysinfo.config<\/code> file. The system will not<\/strong> update the file if it is less than a day old.<\/p>\n

If the sysinfo.config<\/code> file does not exist or becomes corrupt, log in to the server via SSH as the root<\/code> user and run the \/usr\/local\/cpanel\/scripts\/gensysinfo<\/code> script to generate a new file.<\/p>\n
