To resolve this issue, replace the server\u2019s self-signed certificate with a certificate that you purchase from WHM\u2019s <em>Purchase and Install an SSL Certificate<\/em> interface (<em>WHM &gt;&gt; Home &gt;&gt; SSL\/TLS &gt;&gt; Purchase and Install an SSL Certificate<\/em>). If your hosting provider allows it, your server will attempt to install a free hostname certificate from cPanel, L.L.C. during the installation process. For more information, read the Change the log in interface locale section below.\n    <\/div>\n<\/div>\n<h2 id=\"service-urls\">Service URLs<\/h2>\n<p>A cPanel &#038; WHM service URL contains the following sections:<\/p>\n<p><img src=\"https:\/\/ssdsunucum.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/howtologinserviceurl-1.png\" alt=\"An example of a cPanel &#038; WHM service URL.\" title=\"howtologinserviceurl-1\"><\/p>\n<table>\n<thead>\n<tr>\n<th>Section<\/th>\n<th>Description<\/th>\n<th>Example<\/th>\n<\/tr>\n<\/thead>\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td>Protocol<\/td>\n<td>The protocol that your browser uses to communicate with a remote server. cPanel, WHM, and Webmail use the <code>https<\/code> protocol. This protocol provides HTTP over an encrypted connection. An encrypted SSL connection does <strong>not<\/strong> transmit your username and password in plain text.<\/td>\n<td><code>https:\/\/<\/code><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>Address<\/td>\n<td>The address consists of either an IP address or a domain name. This section of the URL specifies the remote server that you wish to access. When you use a domain name to access cPanel &#038; WHM services, make <strong>certain<\/strong> that the domain\u2019s domain name system (DNS) record has propagated across the DNS system. <\/p>\n<div class=\"callout callout-info\">\n<div class=\"callout-heading\">Note:<\/div>\n<div class=\"callout-content\">\n        If you cannot access the interface with your domain name, use your domain\u2019s IP address. It may take up to 48-72 hours for your domain to propagate after you set up the DNS information.\n    <\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/td>\n<td><code>example.com<\/code><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>Port number<\/td>\n<td>The port number that the cPanel &#038; WHM service uses. You <strong>must<\/strong> specify a port number to access a cPanel &#038; WHM service. To specify a port number, enter a colon (<code>:<\/code>) and then the port number.<\/td>\n<td><code>2083<\/code><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>Security token<\/td>\n<td>The security token that the server appends to your session\u2019s URL. Security tokens help to prevent unauthorized use of a website through Cross-Site Request Forgery (XSRF). Security tokens contain the string <code>cpsess<\/code> and a 10-digit number.<\/td>\n<td><code>cpsess1234567890<\/code><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p>For more information about cPanel, WHM, and Webmail connections, read our How to Configure Your Firewall for cPanel &#038; WHM Services documentation.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"external-authentication\">External authentication<\/h2>\n<p>Your hosting provider may allow users to access cPanel or Webmail with external authentication credentials (for example, cPanelID, Google\u00ae Accounts, Facebook\u00ae, or your hosting provider\u2019s portal). This reduces the number of passwords that you must remember.<\/p>\n<p>If you are a system administrator and wish to activate external authentication methods for your users, read our Manage External Authentications documentation.<\/p>\n<div class=\"callout callout-info\">\n<div class=\"callout-heading\">Note:<\/div>\n<div class=\"callout-content\">\n<ul>\n<li>You can link one or more external accounts to multiple cPanel, WHM, and reseller (WHM) accounts.<\/li>\n<li>You <strong>must<\/strong> authenticate through <strong>both<\/strong> the two-factor authentication for your identity provider and the two-factor authentication (2FA) on the server, if enabled.<\/li>\n<\/ul><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<h2 id=\"two-factor-authentication\">Two-factor authentication<\/h2>\n<p>Two-factor authentication provides security through an additional login step. If you enable 2FA on an account, users must provide a generated six-digit security code in order to complete the login. For more information, read our Two-Factor Authentication for cPanel and Two-Factor Authentication for WHM documentation.<\/p>\n<div class=\"callout callout-info\">\n<div class=\"callout-heading\">Note:<\/div>\n<div class=\"callout-content\">\n<p>2FA supports only one concurrent session for any user. If you open several browser windows to cPanel &#038; WHM and log out in one of them, the server logs out <strong>all<\/strong> the other windows.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<h2 id=\"how-to-access-cpanel\">How to access cPanel<\/h2>\n<p>To access cPanel, enter the IP address or domain and the <code>2083<\/code> port in your preferred browser. For example:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><code>https:\/\/192.168.0.1:2083<\/code> \u2014 Access cPanel over an encrypted connection with your IP address.<\/li>\n<li><code>https:\/\/example.com:2083<\/code> \u2014 Access cPanel over an encrypted connection with your domain name.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>You can log in with one of the following methods:<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"use-your-cpanel-account\">Use your cPanel account<\/h3>\n<p>To log in with your cPanel account, perform the following steps:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Enter your cPanel username in the <em>Username<\/em> text box.<\/li>\n<li>Enter your password in the <em>Password<\/em> text box.<\/li>\n<li>Click <em>Log in<\/em>. The cPanel <em>Home<\/em> interface will appear.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>If your account uses two-factor authentication, perform the following additional steps:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Open your preferred 2FA app in your smartphone to generate a six-digit security code.<\/li>\n<li>Enter the provided six-digit security code.<\/li>\n<li>Click <em>Continue<\/em>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3 id=\"use-external-authentication-for-cpanel\">Use external authentication for cPanel<\/h3>\n<p>To log in with external authentication, perform the following steps:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Select the external authentication identity provider that you wish to use.<\/li>\n<li>If you must log in to the identity provider, the identity provider\u2019s login interface will appear. Enter your authentication credentials.\n<div class=\"callout callout-info\">\n<div class=\"callout-heading\">Note:<\/div>\n<div class=\"callout-content\">\n<p>If you own an account at the cPanel Store, the cPanel Tickets system, or the Manage2 billing system, use that username as your cPanelID. For more information, read our cPanelID documentation.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>Authorize the provider to log in to the server, if needed.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The cPanel login interface appears and displays a message that confirms that you authenticated with the provider.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>If you already linked the identity provider to a single cPanel account, the interface automatically logs you in.<\/li>\n<li>If you already linked the provider to multiple cPanel accounts, a new interface appears. This action links the external provider to your WHM account.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 id=\"use-the-whmlogin-script\">Use the whmlogin script<\/h3>\n<p>The <code>\/usr\/local\/cpanel\/scripts\/whmlogin<\/code> script generates a single-use session login URL for WHM. To access WHM with this script, perform the following steps:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Use SSH to access the server as the <code>root<\/code> user.<\/li>\n<li>Run the <code>\/usr\/local\/cpanel\/scripts\/whmlogin<\/code> script. The WHM <em>Home<\/em> interface will appear.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2 id=\"how-to-access-webmail\">How to access Webmail<\/h2>\n<p>You can access Webmail directly through your browser or log in to Webmail through the cPanel interface.<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"access-webmail-directly\">Access Webmail directly<\/h3>\n<p>To access Webmail, enter the IP address or domain and the <code>2096<\/code> port in your preferred browser. This action links the external provider to your Webmail account.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 id=\"access-webmail-from-the-cpanel-interface\">Access Webmail from the cPanel interface<\/h3>\n<p>To access Webmail from the cPanel interface, perform the following steps:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Navigate to cPanel\u2019s <em>Email Accounts<\/em> interface (<em>cPanel &gt;&gt; Home &gt;&gt; Email &gt;&gt; Email Accounts<\/em>).<\/li>\n<li>Click <em>Check Email<\/em> in the actions column in the row that corresponds to the email account that you wish to access Webmail. The <em>Webmail<\/em> interface will appear.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2 id=\"how-to-use-ssh-to-log-in-to-the-command-line\">How to use SSH to log in to the command line<\/h2>\n<p>Many system administration tasks and some website administration tasks require that you access the server from the command line interface (CLI). For information about how to log in on the command line, read our How to Access the Command Line documentation.<\/p>\n<div class=\"callout callout-info\">\n<div class=\"callout-heading\">Note:<\/div>\n<div class=\"callout-content\">\n<p>Your hosting provider controls who can log in via the command line. If you require CLI access, contact your hosting provider.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<h2 id=\"change-the-log-in-interface-locale\">Change the log in interface locale<\/h2>\n<p>Changing the locale in the interface will change the default language the interface uses. To change the log in interface\u2019s locale, click the desired locale\u2019s name at the bottom of the interface. If you do not see your locale, click <code>...<\/code> to display a full list of available locales. After you select a new locale, the log in interface will refresh using the new locale.<\/p>\n<div class=\"callout callout-info\">\n<div class=\"callout-heading\">Note:<\/div>\n<div class=\"callout-content\">\n<ul>\n<li>If your browser\u2019s <code>Accept-Language<\/code> header exists, then the login interface attempts to display the locale that corresponds to your browser setting. If the browser\u2019s header requests an unavailable locale, the login interface appears in English.<\/li>\n<li>When you change the locale, the interface sets a cookie in your browser that expires after one year.
