A reseller is a cPanel account owner that also sells cPanel accounts to other users. A reseller purchases system resources from a hosting provider, and then allocates the resources to the cPanel accounts that they sell. Reseller accounts include additional privileges. The system allows reseller accounts access to a limited version of the WHM interface, which allows them to manage the cPanel accounts that they sell.<\/p>\n<div class=\"callout callout-danger\">\n<div class=\"callout-heading\">Warning:<\/div>\n<div class=\"callout-content\">\n<p>While the system allows resellers to create other resellers (nested resellers), we do <strong>not<\/strong> support this configuration. We do <strong>not<\/strong> test cPanel &#038; WHM in this configuration, and we <strong>strongly<\/strong> recommend that you do not configure your server to use it.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<h2 id=\"how-to-manage-reseller-accounts\">How to manage reseller accounts<\/h2>\n<p>To manage reseller accounts, use one of the following WHM interfaces:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The <em>Resellers<\/em> section (<em>WHM &gt;&gt; Home  &gt;&gt; Resellers<\/em>) provides access to all of the reseller features.<\/li>\n<li>The <em>Reseller Center<\/em> interface (<em>WHM &gt;&gt; Home &gt;&gt; Resellers &gt;&gt; Reseller Center<\/em>) allows you to add or remove reseller privileges, and provides links to all of the other reseller features.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 id=\"what-privileges-exist-for-reseller-accounts\">What privileges exist for reseller accounts?<\/h2>\n<p>The system grants a set of reseller accounts limited privileges by default. To add privileges to a reseller account, use the <em>Edit Reseller Nameservers and Privileges<\/em> interface (<em>WHM &gt;&gt; Home &gt;&gt; Resellers &gt;&gt; Edit Reseller Nameservers and Privileges<\/em>).<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"privilege-categories\">Privilege categories<\/h3>\n<p>Resellers can access privileges from the following categories:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p><em>Initial Privileges<\/em> \u2014 This list includes the privileges that the system assigns to newly-created reseller accounts.<\/p>\n<div class=\"callout callout-info\">\n<div class=\"callout-heading\">Note:<\/div>\n<div class=\"callout-content\">\n<p>We added this category in cPanel &#038; WHM version 70.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><em>Standard Privileges<\/em> \u2014 This list includes basic reseller functions. For example, the reseller can add and remove accounts.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><em>Package Privileges<\/em> \u2014 This list includes the reseller\u2019s ability to create and modify their own web hosting packages.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><em>Global Privileges<\/em> \u2014 This list includes privileges for server administrators, such as access to view and restart system services.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><em>Super Privileges<\/em> \u2014 This list includes settings such as account and quota modification.<\/p>\n<div class=\"callout callout-danger\">\n<div class=\"callout-heading\">Warning:<\/div>\n<div class=\"callout-content\">\n<p>We do <strong>not<\/strong> recommend that you assign these privileges to your resellers.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>The following settings allow resellers to create accounts without packages and circumvent resource limits:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>Account Modification<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>Bandwidth Limiting Modification<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>Quota Modification<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><em>Root Access<\/em> \u2014 The <em>All Features<\/em> setting allows the reseller to access a fully functional WHM interface.<\/p>\n<div class=\"callout callout-danger\">\n<div class=\"callout-heading\">Warning:<\/div>\n<div class=\"callout-content\">\n<ul>\n<li>Do <strong>not<\/strong> enable the <em>All Features<\/em> setting under <em>Root Access<\/em> for your resellers.<\/li>\n<li>The <em>All Features<\/em> setting overrides a reseller\u2019s account creation limits. For example, if you set a reseller\u2019s account creation limit to two accounts, and then you enable the <em>All Features<\/em> setting under <em>Root Access<\/em>, WHM will <strong>not<\/strong> limit the reseller to two accounts. The reseller can create as many accounts as they wish.<\/li>\n<li>The <em>All Features<\/em> setting allows the reseller to view all of the accounts on the server. This includes accounts that they do not own.<\/li>\n<\/ul><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 id=\"default-reseller-privileges\">Default reseller privileges<\/h3>\n<p>A reseller account has access to the following WHM features by default:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p><em>Basic WebHost Manager Setup<\/em> \u2014 This feature contains some basic configuration settings for cPanel &#038; WHM.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><em>Legacy Configure Customer Contact<\/em> \u2014 This feature allows resellers to specify contact information that their customers can use to contact support, billing, or sales.<\/p>\n<div class=\"callout callout-info\">\n<div class=\"callout-heading\">Note:<\/div>\n<div class=\"callout-content\">\n<p>We removed this interface in cPanel &#038; WHM version 60.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><em>Manage External Authentications<\/em> \u2014 This feature allows you to manage your server\u2019s OpenID Connect-compliant identity providers.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><em>Remote Access Key<\/em> \u2014 This feature allows a reseller to generate and copy a key to allow remote access to WHM functionality.<\/p>\n<div class=\"callout callout-info\">\n<div class=\"callout-heading\">Note:<\/div>\n<div class=\"callout-content\">\n<ul>\n<li>We deprecated WHM\u2019s Remote Access Key feature in cPanel &#038; WHM version 64. We <strong>strongly<\/strong> recommend that you use API tokens instead.<\/li>\n<li>This interface will <strong>not<\/strong> appear on new installations of cPanel &#038; WHM version 72.<br \/>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><em>List Subdomains<\/em> \u2014 This feature displays a list of the reseller\u2019s subdomains.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><em>Web Template Editor<\/em> \u2014 This feature allows a reseller to edit the default page that the system displays for a website that does not yet contain content.<\/p>\n<div class=\"callout callout-danger\">\n<div class=\"callout-heading\">Warning:<\/div>\n<div class=\"callout-content\">\n<p>We <strong>strongly<\/strong> recommend that resellers include their contact information in the default page content.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><em>Change WebHost Manager Theme<\/em> \u2014 This feature allows you to select the theme for WHM.<\/p>\n<div class=\"callout callout-info\">\n<div class=\"callout-heading\">Note:<\/div>\n<div class=\"callout-content\">\n<p>We added this interface in cPanel &#038; WHM version 64.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><em>Mail Delivery Reports<\/em> \u2014 This feature allows a reseller to view users who have relayed mail.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><em>View Relayers<\/em> \u2014 This feature displays the total number of message delivery attempts that each domain on a reseller\u2019s server makes.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><em>View Sent Summary<\/em> \u2014 This feature allows a reseller to change WHM themes.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><em>Change Log<\/em> \u2014 This feature allows the reseller to track changes in our software.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><em>Customization<\/em> \u2014 This feature allows a reseller to customize the cPanel interface that their customers use.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><em>SSL Storage Manager<\/em>  \u2014 This features allows system administrators to view detailed information about their SSL resources.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><em>cPanel Development Forum<\/em> \u2014 This link allows resellers to access the cPanel Developers section of the cPanel Forums.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><em>Developer Documentation<\/em> \u2014 This set of documents provides helpful information for resellers of third-party products that interact with cPanel &#038; WHM.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><em>Manage API Tokens<\/em> \u2014 This feature allows you to create, list, update, and revoke API tokens.<\/p>\n<div class=\"callout callout-info\">\n<div class=\"callout-heading\">Note:<\/div>\n<div class=\"callout-content\">\n<p>We added this interface in cPanel &#038; WHM version 64.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><em>Plugins<\/em> \u2014 This feature displays interfaces from your server\u2019s installed WHM plugins.<\/p>\n<div class=\"callout callout-info\">\n<div class=\"callout-heading\">Note:<\/div>\n<div class=\"callout-content\">\n<p>This interface does <strong>not<\/strong> appear for all users.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 id=\"which-packages-can-resellers-view-and-assign\">Which packages can resellers view and assign?<\/h2>\n<p>Packages allow resellers to assign limits and settings to cPanel accounts. For example, a reseller may want to assign disk quotas or monthly bandwidth restrictions. Hosting providers can create and modify packages for resellers or allow the reseller to do this for themselves.<\/p>\n<p>Resellers can view and assign any package that contains their username.
