Create an Alibaba Account

Overview

This document demonstrates how to create an Alibaba Cloud account.

Create the account

To create an Alibaba Cloud account, perform the following steps:

1. Navigate to the Alibaba Cloud web site.

2. Click Free Account. A new interface will appear.

3. Select your region.

4. Enter your email address.

5. Enter a password and confirm it.

6. Select the checkbox to agree to Alibaba’s Membership Agreement, Privacy Policy, Product Terms and Terms of Use.

7. Click Confirm. A Verification window will appear.

   • To verify your new account via email, perform the following steps:

     1. Click Send.

     2. Check your email for a message with a verification code.

   • To verify your new account via your smartphone, perform the following steps:

     1. Click Use phone.

     2. Enter your phone number.

     3. Click Call Now to receive the verification code via phone or click Send Message to receive it via a text message.

8. Enter the verification code.

9. Click Verify. The Basic Information interface will appear.

10. Select your account type. For a business account, select Enterprise Account. For an personal account, select Individual Account.

11. Fill in your billing information.

    • To verify your phone number, perform the following steps:

      1. Click Send.

      2. Check your phone for a message with a verification code.

      3. Enter your code and click Verify.

12. Select the checkbox if you do not wish to receive calls to discuss deals and offers.

13. Click Submit. The Add a Payment interface will appear.

Set up payment method

To purchase service from Alibaba, you will need to add a payment method to your account.

• To add a credit or debit card to your account, perform the following steps:

  1. Click Add. The Add Payment Method interface will appear.

  2. Enter your card information in the Card information section and click Submit.

  3. A success message will appear. Click Free Trial.

• To add a PayPal account to your account, perform the following steps:

  1. Click Bind.

  2. Click Add Now. The interface will direct you to the PayPal website to complete billing information.

  3. A success message will appear. Click Free Trial.

The Alibaba Cloud Free Trial interface will appear. Here you can explore the different options available. Once a trial is selected, the Alibaba Console will appear.
